Home to some of the most amazing cold-blooded creatures on the planet. We are avid reptile and exotic animal enthusiasts with many years of experience and located right here in the Chicagoland area. We love our animals and are here for all your reptile needs. We specialize in everything from educational shows, rescues, general care questions, select breeding, sales, and more. One of our goals is to help educate the minds of both children and adults alike about reptiles and other exotic animals. We provide "Hands-On" educational programs custom fitted to your certain event needs. Whether it be a birthday party, scouting event, school assembly/classroom lecture, family or company event, etc. We give you that "UP CLOSE and PERSONAL" experience while learning amazing facts about our awesome animals. Each animal in our collection is hand picked by us to provide you the most docile yet beautiful display that mother nature can give us. Below is some of our basic pricing.******************************************************************************************************"Show and Tell" $75-150/hr No presentation needed. We show up for your event, bring our animals in a nice display setting and answer questions to those interested in learning about them. Petting and limited handling available with photo opportunities.Birthday Parties - $250 (1-1/2 hr) Learning presentation where we introduce each animal with a couple of interesting facts about each one with plenty of time at the end for Q&A, handling and photo opportunities. Choose from a list of our animals. Typically 8-10 different species.Scouting/School Events - Please ContactContact to discuss your event and specific needs. We are available for Den meetings, Blue & Gold Banquets, general outtings and Merit Badge help. We are registered with the BSA for the Reptile & Amphibian Study Merit Badge. Workshops available. Also available for school assemblies and classroom lectures.Photo/Film - $100/1st hr, $50 ea. additional hr. (min. 1 hour)Yes, we rent out the use of our animals for photographers and film directors. DNR Exotics handlers are to be present at all times for handling and positioning for both the animal's saftey and your safety. Note: Special arrangements can be made if you need less than 1 hr.Custom Event - Please ContactHave a more unique request? We are here to find the right package for you! Need two burmese pythons for an event promo? Want to rent a pen of tortoises for the day? Let us know! Custom quotes are based on length of show, if verbal presentation is needed or just Q&A exhibit, quantity and species requested, travel expenses, etc...No group too large or too young/old. We will customize our show to fit all needs. BBQs, Picnics, Fairs, Promos, Block Parties, Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties, Weddings, you name it! *******************************************IMPORTANT!******************************************It is recommended to reserve your event date with us at least 2 weeks in advanced. A minimum deposit of at least 25% of the total is asked to be paid to reserve the date requested. The remaining balance is to be paid no later then the end of the show. Additional fees may apply depending on traveling expenses and additional or more exotic reptile add-ons. CASH or PAYPAL only accepted at this time. Prices subject to change without notice.******************************************************************************************************"No Touch" includes smaller animals in our display that are too sensative or dangerous for hands other then DNR Exotics handlers. They will be brought out for all to get a close look at but no touching is allowed. All handling opportunities is at the discretion of the show handler. Should a chosen animal not be "show ready" (in shed, sick, etc.), an animal of similar species will be substituted in its place with or without notice.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We appreciate any and all donations made to help ease the costs of properly caring for these animals. The proceeds go towards our show and rescued animals. Donations help supply food, vet visits, medication as well as general maintenance for our animals. In addition, we are always in need of the following items as an aid to helping our services go smoother.

Second Chance Rescues...

Because we love reptiles so much, we have decided to provide a small rescue at our location for surrendered reptiles for reasons of unwant, neglect or health issues. We take in various snakes, lizards, tortoises, amphibians and invertebrates that have suffered from the mishap of their previous owners who can no longer provide them adequate homes and give them a whole new life here with us. Some rescues we even use in our educational programs to educate about proper reptile owning responsibilities. Over time, it has come to our attention that not everyone who harbors a reptile or amphibian (or any animal) is suited to own it. Whether uneducated about their specific needs, lack of time, or just plain neglect or abuse. We have taken in reptiles that suffer from malnutrition, dehydration, mouthrot, mites, small wounds, burns, etc,...as well as those that are healthy, just unwanted or can no longer fit within the owners lifestyle. Rather then dumping it off in the wild or to the next unsuitable owner, we ask that you consider surrendering your reptile to those with experience that will make sure the animal lives a long and happy life. In the albums to your right are some of the oddball, sick, injured and abandoned animals that we've rescued along the way, some are even used in our educational programs and exhibits. We are, in no way, claiming to be certified vets, any advice on treating sick animals are only suggestions based on our own personal experiences with treating animals we've taken in. Our licensed herp vet makes frequent home visits to make sure all of our animals are healthy and provide us proper medication when needed. Rescued and surrendered animals are not resold for profit or used in breeding. Some are used in shows, kept in our personal collection or rehomed to qualified reptile lovers.

A New Beginning...11.08.11Well, it's been a while...I've slacked on keeping the website as up to date as possible, and for that I apologize. We have had a couple changes here at DNR Exotics lately. A lot of moving around and reorganizing but I think we're finally headed in the right direction. We're now USDA licensed to exhibit exotic mammals so now our animal family will slowely get bigger and more extreme. We are continueing to do sales expos as well as sell animals, including feeders from outside our home. Our feeder rodents are starting to increase so production will be constant soon. We are going to focus on promoting our educational shows more to help teach the public about the animals we keep. Update on Our Retail Location4.13.11Due to economical finances, we have chosen to close our retail store. It will be no longer accessible after Friday April 29th. All of our dry goods will be discounted on top of our already amazing prices. We will be continueing to sell livestock, including feeders, to customers from our home facility as well as vend at the weekend expos. We apologize for our short lived (1 year) experience but have weighed out our options and have chosen to go in another direction. I (Danielle) got my first reptile when I was in 7th grade, Ron has also been into reptiles for a long time.* Where is your facility? Right now our facility is our home in Addison, ILEducational Shows:* How far do you travel? Anywhere within Dupage, Cook, Kane County, etc. Destinations outside a certain mile radius may encour small additional travel fee.* How far in advance should I call to book a performance? While we have been known to do shows on an emergency notice, we recommend booking your performance at least 2-3 weeks in advanced for best chances of getting the date and time you need us.* What days are you available for hire? 7 Days/week all year long. Major Holidays are on a case by case exception.* How much time do you need to setup before you perform? Typically between 15-30 minutes. Larger display exhibits may require additional time.* Can you perform outside? no colder than 75degrees or hotter then 90degrees with shelter.* Do any of your animals bite? While any animal with a mouth can bite, we have never had any accidents causing anyone to get bit. It is our goal to choose/have docile animals for the publics viewing and to have full control over the animal at all times.Sales: * What forms of payment do you take?
